The Kansas City Royals beat the Chicago White Sox for the 12th straight time at Kauffman Stadium following a 3-1 win Friday night.
A solo home run by Salvador Perez in the 4th inning put the Royals up for good in the game.
Noah Camron pitched into the 6th inning to record the win for KC. Carlos Estevez struck out the side in the 9th inning for his 31st save this season.
The only run for the White Sox came in the 4th inning on a solo home run by Lenyn Sosa.
Aaron Civale took the loss for Chicago.
The Royals are (18-3) against the White Sox since the start of last season. Chicago has lost 9 out of their last 11 games.
Game 2 in the series is Saturday night in KC.
