Rockford Man Sentenced to More Than Six Years for Firearm Possession

ROCKFORD — A 37-year-old Rockford man has been sentenced to 77 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing a loaded firearm as a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois. Wesley Smith admitted he had the gun inside a Rockford residence on May 2, 2024.
