BYRON — A Rockford man is facing multiple charges after reportedly fleeing on foot from a traffic stop Tuesday evening near West Blackhawk Drive and South Fox Run Lane in Byron. Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 19-year-old Alexander Kurtz on several firearm offenses, including unlawful use of a weapon and possession of an allegedly stolen gun. The driver, 20-year-old Skylar Risner of Rockford, was cited for improper lane usage and no insurance, and passenger 20-year-old Jordan Jarvis of Sterling was cited for unlawful cannabis possession. Risner and Jarvis were released with notices to appear, while Kurtz was taken to the Ogle County Jail ahead of a pretrial release hearing.
