Ian Metzger
It’s back to back championships for RTHS Senior Ian Metzger at the 13th Annual Dennis Berg Memorial Golf Tournament held at Fairways Golf Course in Rochelle on Sunday.
Metzger pulled away after a tight first day leader board and won by 8 shots. He finished with a 3 over par 201 for the 54 hole tournament which included a 1 under par 65 on his final 18 holes.
He shot 8 shots better than a year ago when he won the Championship Flight.
George Weber finished in second place, 8 shots off the lead. Former champion and first day leader Jon Woeppel came in third place with a 216 score.
RTHS junior Connor Lewis won the Championship “A” Flight with a 224 total. That was 9 shots better than Nate Burdin.
A 1 hole playoff determined the winners in 2 other flights.
Tony Turner won the Senior Championship Flight with a playoff win over Jim Peters.
Mickey Crystal won the playoff against Ray Kannheiser in the Senior Championship “A” Flight.
