Rochelle Schools Seek Bids for Specialized Student Transportation

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Elementary District 231 officials are working to get bids for specialized transportation services for students. The board issued a request for proposals to comply with a state law that mandates a new bidding cycle every 10 years for third party carriers. This contract covers specific routes for preschool and middle school students that the local department cannot provide. The district is seeking a one year agreement that includes four additional priced years for a total five year commitment. This arrangement allows the district to renew the contract for up to 10 years. Official bid results will be presented for school board consideration during the April meeting.
