Rochelle Railroad Park To Host Railroad Days May 16 And 17

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Railroad Park will host Railroad Days on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the city’s railroad park near the downtown rail lines. The event will feature trainspotting, food vendors, bounce houses, face painting, princess visits, Kona Ice, and activities for families. Rochelle’s Golden K Club will serve hot dog lunches during the weekend fundraiser.

Jenny Thompson with the city of Rochelle said visitors travel from across the country and other nations to see the trains at the park. “It is just such a unique spot with the way that the two railroads intersect at what they call the diamond there,” Thompson said. “It’s so exciting to talk to the different people who visit the park. They come from all over the United States. They come from other countries to little Rochelle and spend the day with us here.”
Thompson said details about Railroad Days can be found on the city of Rochelle Facebook page, the Rochelle Railroad Park Facebook page, or at cityofrochelle.net
