ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Police Department will take part in the Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser May 15 from 5 a.m. to noon at Dunkin to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois as part of a statewide effort.
Officer James Jakymiw said, “It’s the 23rd year that Dunkin has been working with Cop on a Rooftop. They’ve raised over $11 million for Special Olympics Illinois in those 23 years. But for us specifically, we really enjoy getting a new opportunity to interact with the public and supporting a great cause.”
Donations will be accepted on site and supporters can receive coupons for a free donut or coffee based on contribution, while proceeds help fund programs for athletes across the state.
