ROCHELLE – Rochelle Community Consolidated School District 231 has announced Katie Smith as the new principal of Rochelle Middle School. Smith has served as the school’s assistant principal for the past three years and previously taught seventh grade language arts at Rochelle Middle School and fourth grade at May Elementary. She replaces Jordan Young, who led the school for seven years and is leaving to take a principal position in the Meridian School District. District officials thanked Young for his leadership and expressed support for Smith as she steps into her new role.
