ROCHELLE — Mayor John Bearrows has proclaimed Oct. 5-11 as Public Power Week in Rochelle to recognize the contributions of Rochelle Municipal Utilities. The proclamation highlights the community-owned utility’s role in providing reliable, not-for-profit electricity since 1896, along with its broadband services, energy efficiency efforts, and support for economic development and environmental protection.
