Rochelle Council Approves Ordinance to Include Ice Cream Trucks and Food Carts

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council on Monday approved an amendment to Chapter 70 of the municipal code to include ice cream trucks and food carts under existing regulations for mobile vendors. Ice cream trucks will continue to follow the standard itinerant merchant licensing process and may play music, while food carts must adhere to rules already in place for mobile food vendors, including designated vending sites, operating hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., traffic and safety compliance, and proper trash disposal.
