Rochelle Council Approves Engineering Agreement for Downtown Parking Lot Project

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved an engineering services agreement with Willett Hofmann and Associates Inc. for construction engineering work tied to a new municipal parking lot at the northeast corner of North Main Street and West 5th Avenue. The project includes parcels at 503 North Main Street, 313 West 5th Avenue, and continues work tied to a 2023 Rebuild Illinois Downtowns and Main Streets Capital Grant project that included parking lot improvements and a public restroom facility. City staff said the agreement covers final engineering, bidding assistance, construction engineering, and staking services with a cost not to exceed $36,700, funded through the Downtown and Southern Gateway TIF. Construction is expected to be completed by late August.
