ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Municipal Airport will host a Fly-In Drive-In event tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., marking the return of a community event not held in several years. The day will feature aircraft displays, including a vintage T-28 Warbird, a car show, skydiving, music, food vendors, and bounce houses. The event will also include a petting zoo, military displays, and pop-up booths from local organizations like Rochelle Community Hospital and Rock River Valley Blood Center. The Hamilton Collection’s Bugatti sports car will also be on display.
Rochelle Mayor John Bearrows said it will be fun for all area residents to enjoy.
“We’ve got a wide variety of things to make it a family event. We’ve got little small pedal planes for the kids to drive in a little course,” he said. “There’s going to be music, there’s going to be food trucks, there’s going to be food from the flight deck. We’ve got an actual old T-28 Warbird flying in that’ll be on display as well and then we’re going to have, of course, a car show.”
