ROCHELLE — The Roberts Armory WWII Museum will open to the public on Saturday, August 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. as part of the Rochelle Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival. The museum features World War II artifacts including tanks, trucks, cannons, and 1945 newspapers with photos of local veterans. The Higgins Boat will also be on display, weather permitting. Located about three miles from town off Rt. 251 and Intermodal Drive, the site can be accessed by following signs marked with an Army truck. Admission is free. The next opening will be November 9.
