DIXON — One person was seriously injured after an explosion at a manufactured home in the 1500 block of Estates Road at Chateau Estates in Dixon around 6 a.m. Monday. Residents were allowed to return to their homes late yesterday after Anchor Road reopened. City officials said natural gas service will remain unavailable while additional testing is conducted by Nicor Gas on Tuesday. Nicor is expected to provide residents with information on plans to restore service. The city thanked emergency responders and community partners, including Dixon Public Schools, Reagan Middle School, Reagan Mass Transit District, the Salvation Army and the Red Cross, for assisting with evacuations, shelter operations and transportation during the response. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
