Research into Rust Problems in Creston Continues

CRESTON – The rusty water problem that has been plaguing some residents in the Village of Creston is getting one step closer to being resolved.  Village engineer Kevin Bunge said a third party company that was hired to map the existing mains and connections have completed their work, and along with existing records, they should be able to locate low points in the pipes and possible ‘dead ends’ of water mains where sediment and rust may be accumulating. He also updated the Village on the upcoming water tower cleaning and inspection. Bunge said the company that was awarded the contract originally said they would be getting started this spring and have pushed the start date to August. He said he would reach out to them to try to see if they can get back to the previously agreed to date.
