Raoul Targets 37 Telecom Firms in Robocall Crackdown

CHICAGO — Attorney General Kwame Raoul, with a bipartisan coalition of 50 attorneys general, has launched Operation Robocall Roundup to combat illegal calls nationwide. The effort includes warning letters to 37 telecom providers accused of failing to follow federal rules, allowing robocalls to pass through their networks. More than 100 downstream providers were also warned about doing business with the companies. The Federal Communications Commission announced seven of the providers will be removed from its Robocall Mitigation Database, blocking other carriers from routing their calls.
