Pritzker Defends Illinois Immigration Policies Before Congress

CHICAGO –  Governor Pritzker is defending Illinois’ immigration policies.  Speaking yesterday before the U.S. House Oversight Committee, the governor proclaimed that Illinois follows the law, but they expect the federal government to follow the law too.  Pritzker clashed with Republican members of Congress, including Texas Representative Brandon Gill, who repeatedly asked the governor whether he thought that “biological men” should use women’s bathrooms.  Pritzker also vowed to “stand in the way” of White House “border czar” Tom Homan, who has claimed that elected officials would be arrested if they impede ICE.  Afterwards, the governor blasted the GOP, calling the hearing a “demonstration of just how bad this Republican-controlled Congress really is.”
