Pritzker Calls for Brandon Road Project Work to Resume

CHICAGO — Gov. JB Pritzker is calling on the Trump administration to reverse a federal work stoppage on the Brandon Road Interbasin Project, which is designed to stop invasive carp from reaching the Great Lakes. Pritzker said delays threaten drinking water for more than 40 million people and a $52 billion regional economy. “The Great Lakes provide drinking water to more than 40 million people and support a $52 billion regional economy,” Pritzker said. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has asked the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to meet and discuss moving the project forward.
