Pope’s Childhood Home Sold To Town

DOLTON –  The childhood home of Pope Leo the 14th has been sold to the town it’s in.  The sale of a tiny post-war home in Dolton, Illinois was approved by the Village Board Tuesday for an undisclosed price, although the owner said it was less than he thought he’d get.  The town is hoping the site, which has already attracted pilgrims, will provide an economic boost to a region that’s been struggling for decades.
