POLO – The Polo Area Community Theatre has officially acquired the historic Old Polo Town Hall, a building it has called home for nearly two decades. Buffalo Township transferred ownership of the structure to the nonprofit group at no cost, in accordance with local bylaws that allow the donation of public property to 501(c)(3) organizations. The building, which dates back to the late 1800s and once served as both town hall and opera house, requires significant repairs including accessibility improvements, water damage remediation, and electrical upgrades.
Founder and Artistic Director Kristin DuBois hopes the community wants to make an investment in the arts.
“With all the things that have to be done, that we still desperately need donors of any size, $5 up to corporate sponsorships, to help with some of these major repairs to start with”
The theater’s next production, *The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical*, is set for late September.
