Polo Approves Appropriations for 2025–2026 Fiscal Year

POLO — The City of Polo has approved a $13 million appropriation budget for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, outlining spending for general operations, water and sewer services, streets, parks, police, and other municipal functions. The General Fund totals about $3.1 million, with major expenses including $1.27 million for police, $1.59 million for street maintenance, and $656,000 for parks and the city pool. More than $7 million is allocated to the Water and Sewer Fund, with $2.5 million designated for lead service line replacement and $700,000 for wastewater treatment. Other funding includes $750,000 for motor fuel tax street projects, $565,000 for sanitation, and $350,000 for tax increment financing. The appropriation ordinance sets the city’s legal spending cap and is typically drafted with a buffer to avoid amendments later in the year.
