Police Warn of Scam Calls Demanding GPS Monitoring Payments

OREGON – Local police are warning residents about a scam involving calls or messages claiming money must be paid to place a loved one on GPS or remote monitoring for jail release. Authorities say the Illinois Office of Statewide Pretrial Services does not charge fees for supervision or GPS placement.
