Oregon Council Approves City Manager Contract

OREGON — The Oregon City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved the employment contract for City Manager Darin DeHaan, who was appointed May 9, 2023 as the first city manager under the council manager form of government. The contract sets DeHaan’s salary at $141,000 per year with annual increases. Benefits include health insurance, participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, vacation time, sick and personal days, and paid holidays.

DeHaan was appreciative to the city for their continued faith in him.

”I just wanna thank the council and the mayor for your continued support in renewing my contract. As I reflect back, I’m nearing my 30th year with Oregon, but I think I still have the same energy and passion I know I do for this community. So I look forward to working with our department heads, all of our fantastic staff moving forward, and certainly representing the mayor and the council, and the work you guys do as well,” he said Tuesday.
