Oregon City Council Member Tim Krug Resigns, Vacancy Opens Ahead of 2027 Election

OREGON – Oregon City Council member Tim Krug resigned Friday to focus on family and business. Krug served on the council for six years. Mayor Ken Williams said Krug made a positive impact on the council and the city. The council will appoint an interim member to serve through April 30, 2027. Interested residents must submit a letter of interest and resume to the city clerk by Oct. 23. Residents who want to run for a council seat in the April 6, 2027, consolidated election must file nominating petitions. The election will include two four year terms and one two year term. Candidate packets are available at City Hall and the Ogle County Courthouse. Completed petitions must be filed between Oct. 19 and Oct. 26.
