ROCHELLE – The unemployment rate fell in Ogle, Lee and DeKalb counties in July compared with the same month last year, according to the latest data from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Ogle County’s unemployment rate dropped to 3.6% in July from 4.5% a year earlier, while Lee County fell to 3.7% from 4.7%. DeKalb County also saw its rate decline to 3.7% from 4.7%. The statewide unemployment rate was 4.6% in July, down from 4.7% in July 2025.
