OREGON – The Ogle County Finance, Revenue and Insurance Committee agreed to use opioid settlement funds to pay for a $54,000 Chevrolet Tahoe purchased by Sheriff Brian VanVickle to replace a 2009 truck damaged in a recent interstate crash. The cost does not include equipment for the vehicle and is separate from insurance money for the wrecked truck. Committee members earlier this month also noted that two other vehicles for the sheriff’s office are expected to be covered by a DCFS grant in September, while another will be paid for with proceeds from county property sales.
