KINGS – The Illinois Department of Transportation has begun a Phase I study of the intersection of Illinois 64 and Illinois 251 in Ogle County to examine traffic control options that improve safety and mobility, including a proposed roundabout. The intersection is currently a four-way stop, and a 2025 restriping project reduced Illinois 251 from four lanes to two. The study will include opportunities for public input, and all phases of the project, including engineering, contract plan preparation, and construction, are funded. A virtual public meeting is scheduled Tuesday, November 18, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
