OREGON — The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Illinois State Police and local departments for Thanksgiving traffic enforcement from Nov. 21 to Dec. 2. The effort targets seat belt violations, speeding, distracted driving, and impairment from alcohol or drugs, including cannabis. Sheriff Brian VanVickle said drivers should buckle up on every trip and plan for a sober ride before celebrating. The campaign is supported by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
