OREGON — The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office issued 92 speeding citations during a traffic safety campaign conducted from July 8 through Aug. 1 as part of a statewide effort to reduce crashes caused by speeding. Deputies also made 11 DUI arrests, issued 30 citations to uninsured motorists, 10 citations for driving without a valid license, 10 citations for driving with a suspended or revoked license, two reckless driving citations, two seat belt citations, and 97 other citations. Sheriff Brian VanVickle urged drivers to slow down, obey speed limits, and drive responsibly, saying every decision behind the wheel matters. The enforcement campaign was funded by federal highway safety funds administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
