OREGON — The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office reported results from its April 2026 distracted driving enforcement campaign, issuing 2 citations for distracted driving, 65 for speeding, 39 for no insurance, 7 arrests for driving without a valid license, 11 DUI arrests and 25 arrests for driving on a suspended or revoked license, along with 96 additional citations for other Illinois Vehicle Code violations. Sheriff Brian VanVickle said distracted driving remains a serious concern and urged drivers to give full attention to the road, adding that enforcement efforts will continue beyond the campaign period. The sheriff’s office worked with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement and highway safety partners during the effort, which was funded through federal traffic safety money administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
