SPRINGFIELD – Ogle County has been assigned a tentative 2026 property assessment equalization factor of 1.0000, according to the Illinois Department of Revenue. The multiplier is used to help ensure property assessments are uniform across counties and that properties are assessed at one third of their market value. Ogle County assessments averaged 33.24% of market value based on property sales from 2023 through 2025. The tentative multiplier applies to property taxes payable in 2027 and matches the county’s 2025 factor. The factor could change following action by the Ogle County Board of Review or the submission of additional assessment data. A public hearing will be held 20 to 30 days after the tentative factor is published in a county newspaper. IDOR says a change in the multiplier does not automatically mean property tax bills will increase or decrease, as tax bills are determined by the amounts requested by local taxing districts.
