Ogle County Deputies Respond to Multi-Vehicle Crash on Route 251

DAVIS JUNCTION – A multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday at Illinois Route 251 and Big Mound Road, according to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say a 28-year-old Naperville driver failed to yield at the stop intersection while driving west on Big Mound Road, striking a pickup driven by a 66-year-old Leaf River man. The pickup then left the roadway and hit a utility pole before stopping. The Naperville driver and a 25-year old passenger from Plainfield were taken to Swedish American Hospital with minor injuries. The Leaf River man was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. The Naperville driver received citations for failure to yield and expired registration.
