SYCAMORE — The Sycamore Community School District 427 Board of Education has named Nick Reineck interim superintendent following its Aug. 26 meeting. Reineck, who has served as acting superintendent since Aug. 1, will remain in the role until a permanent superintendent is selected on or before July 1, 2026. He will continue his duties as assistant superintendent of human resources and educational programs, a position he has held since 2020. Reineck, who has worked in the district since 2014, previously served as dean of students and assistant principal at Sycamore High School and has held leadership roles in safety, restorative justice and district training. In 2020, he received the DeKalb County Excellence in Education Award in administration.
