ROCHELLE – The Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District announced that the new playground at VFW Park is finished and open to the public, while construction began this week on another new play area at Skare Park. Both projects are part of a larger effort to replace outdated playgrounds with help from a matching grant provided by Gametime, a playground equipment manufacturer based in Alabama. The updates also include future improvements at Hillcrest and Sweeney parks. Families are invited to visit VFW Park on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. for a summer event featuring kickball and access to the new playground.
