Mother Of Fallen CPD Officer Accused Partner Of Leaving Her To Die

CHICAGO —  The mother of fallen Chicago Police Officer Krystal Rivera is accusing the officer who shot her of leaving her to die.  Krystal Rivera’s mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Chicago Police Department and her partner, Officer Carlos Baker.  The suit claims Rivera dated Baker on and off but broke up with him after she found out he had a live-in girlfriend.  Rivera had threatened to tell the other woman about their relationship before he shot and killed her during a foot chase on the South Side in June.  A lawyer for Rivera’s mother says Baker intentionally chose not to give Rivera medical aid, call for back-up or request an ambulance.
