Minnesota Man Arrested After DUI Crash in Rural Monroe Center

MONROE CENTER — A 28-year-old Minnesota man was arrested early Wednesday after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing in rural Monroe Center. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office said Ahlem A. Small of Shakopee was southbound on Interstate 39 when his car reportedly left the road, crossed the median and northbound lanes, traveled through a cornfield and came to rest on North Limestone Road. Deputies arrested Small for DUI and cited him for DUI over .08, failure to reduce speed, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and parking in the roadway. He was taken to the Ogle County Jail and released with a notice to appear. No injuries were reported.
