MENDOTA – Mendota will kick off its America 250 celebration with a fireworks show at Lake Mendota tonight, with gates opening at 7 p.m. and fireworks beginning at dusk. The event will include food vendors, glow merchandise, family activities, and free parking around the lake.
Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Madeline Piller said, “Mendota is going all out to help celebrate the annual fireworks display in and around Lake Mendota. It’s on June 27, Saturday night. If you haven’t been to Mendota, it’s right adjacent to 251 on the northwest side of town. There’s parking in and around the neighborhoods and some parking inside the area around the lake, all free parking, and the gates open at 7 p.m. Don’t snooze on being on the other side of the lake so you can see the fireworks reflected in the lake.”
The fireworks display is expected to draw visitors from across the region.
