DeKalb County Community Foundation Opens New Grant Program for Community Ideas

SYCAMORE  — The DeKalb County Community Foundation is accepting ideas for a new grant program designed to support projects that expand opportunity and improve quality of life across DeKalb County. The Upward Mobility Grant Program will replace the former Promise Grants Program and provide grants of up to $5,000 for projects focused on education and youth, health and well being, housing and transportation, and income and employment. Residents, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and local governments may submit ideas from July 1 through Aug. 1. Selected applicants will be invited to complete a full application by Aug. 15, with grant recipients announced in early November. Individuals may submit ideas even if they are not part of a nonprofit organization. Projects must serve DeKalb County residents, and the foundation will help connect selected applicants with a nonprofit or government partner to manage grant funding. Bilingual workshops and application assistance will be available throughout the application period.
