ROCHELLE — The Roberts Armory WWII Museum will welcome visitors Memorial Day weekend during a public opening planned for Monday, May 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. The Higgins Boat will be available for viewing, weather permitting. Displays at the museum include World War II tanks, trucks, cannons and 1945 Rochelle News Leader newspapers featuring photographs of Rochelle residents who served during the war. Visitors can follow signs near Route 251 and Intermodal Drive to the museum, located about three miles away. Admission is free. The next scheduled opening will take place Aug. 15.
