Rochelle — The Rock River Valley Blood Center will host its Save Our Summer blood drive Wednesday, June 3, at Holcomb Bank, 233 East Illinois 38 in Rochelle, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The center said it supplies blood for 14 area hospitals and depends on regular donations to meet demand. Donors will receive a free item from Headon’s Food Truck. Donors are asked to bring a photo ID. Maggie Anderson said summer is a challenging time for collections because travel increases while medical need remains steady.
Anderson said, “We are excited for the Save Our Summer drive because it brings the community together. Every donation helps patients while also making it easier for people to give in a fun setting.”
