(Miami, FL) — The Marlins cruised to a 10-0 home win over the White Sox. Liam Hicks led Miami, going three-for-four with a home run and four RBIs, while Owen Caissie and Javier Sanoja drove in two runs each. Sandy Alcantara allowed three hits and struck out seven in a complete game victory.
The Marlins improved to 5-and-1 this season.
Shane Smith got the loss for Chicago after he allowed eight runs, seven earned, in just three innings. The White Sox dropped to just 1-and-5 on the year.
The White Sox home opener for Thursday with Toronto has been postponed due to heavy rain in the forecast.
The home opener will now be played on Friday afternoon.
