ROCKFORD — A 39-year-old man is accused of stealing a vehicle in Rockford. Police say officers responded Sunday to a vehicle theft in the 3200 block of Auburn Street. The vehicle fled from police multiple times before it was located with the use of GPS at 11th Street and 6th Avenue. The driver, Brandon Sweetman, was taken into custody. He is charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing, resisting arrest and no driver’s license.
