SPRINGFIELD – Former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan must report to prison Oct. 13 after a federal appeals court denied his request to remain free pending appeal. Madigan, who also served as the chairman of the Democratic Party of Illinois, was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison in February for corruption.
