Latest Grayson Appeal Dismissed After His Death

SPRINGFIELD –  The latest appeal to vacate Sean Grayson’s murder conviction in the death of Sonya Massey has been dismissed.  That was the most recent ruling from the Appellate Court of the Illinois Fourth Judicial District.  Court records show Grayson’s lawyers filed a motion last month, asking the court to vacate his second-degree murder conviction.  The former Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy passed away in August of cancer while serving his sentence.
