SYCAMORE – The DeKalb County Community Foundation announced the Karsten Larson Fund has been reclassified and renamed as the YEP Alumni Endowment Fund to support youth-led grantmaking through the Youth Engaged in Philanthropy program. Originally created in 2012 as a donor-advised fund, the change reflects Larson’s connection to YEP, where she served as chair in 2010-11. The fund will now award grants to eligible organizations in DeKalb County, with recommendations made by current YEP members. Donations are open to alumni, past grant recipients and community supporters through the foundation’s website.
