Juvenile Struck by Train in Rochelle, Airlifted to Hospital

ROCHELLE — A female juvenile was injured Tuesday night after being struck by an eastbound train at the 9th Street railroad crossing in Rochelle. Police and fire crews responded to the scene at 10:42 p.m. and found the victim conscious and breathing. She was taken to Rochelle Community Hospital before being flown to OSF in Rockford. Authorities say she allegedly tried to cross the tracks after warning gates and signals were active. Rochelle Police continue to investigate.
