Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Over Trump Deploying National Guard To Illinois

CHICAGO –  A federal judge is dismissing a lawsuit against President Trump for deploying National Guard troops to Illinois.  The state of Illinois and city of Chicago sued the Trump Administration last fall after hundreds of troops from Texas were sent to Illinois and placed under federal control during “Operation Midway Blitz.”  The judge believes the presidential orders have been rescinded.  Governor Pritzker applauded Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul for securing this win in the courts.  He said the ruling confirms “Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to occupy our streets was a reckless and illegal abuse of power.”
