WINNEBAGO — The third annual Joe Rice Memorial Car Show will be held tomorrow from 7 a.m. to noon at Winnebago High School, honoring the memory of 2022 graduate Joe Rice, who was involved in football and wrestling before his passing that same year. The event will feature classic and custom cars, music, vendors, food, and a display of Rice’s Mazda. Car registration begins at 7 a.m., and awards will be presented at 11:30 a.m.
Teacher Leslie Hopp is an event organizer.
“Throughout high school, like many students, he was a pretty typical kid. He played football, had lots of friends, did lots of normal high school stuff. But, as we’re seeing more and more lately, there are growing mental health issues, which we did see while he was in high school.”
Proceeds will benefit a scholarship awarded to a member of the Class of 2026 at Winnebago High School.
