ROCKFORD – An inmate at the United States Penitentiary in Thomson, Illinois is receiving a life sentence for killing another inmate. Houston Clyde pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree murder. Prosecutors say Clyde stabbed his cellmate to death while the pair were incarcerated in November 2020 at Thomson facility. He was serving a 17-year sentence for a 2016 murder in Tuba City, Arizona at the time of the stabbing.
