Illinois State Treasurer Reports 11% Increase in Investment Earnings

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs announced Wednesday that investment earnings on the state portfolio are up more than 11%. The office reported that investment earnings stand at nearly $804 billion for the first six months of Fiscal Year 2025, which is an increase of $80 million. According to state law, the Treasurer’s Office is prohibited from directly investing the state’s portfolio in the stock market.
